"The Uncle Charley Series"
AUTHORS NOTEUncle Charley's wants to be up front about his books and says he's kinda like Will Rogers when it comes to writing and talking so he doesn't want anyone to admonish him for the way he is.
Someone once suggested to Will that he took too many liberties with the laws of syntax. "What's sin tax?" asked Rogers. "Sounds like bad news."
"I mean you use bad grammar," his companion replied.
"Shucks" declared Rogers. "I didn't know they was buyin' grammar now. I'm just so dumb I had a notion it was thoughts and ideas. I write just like I talk. If there's bad grammar, it ain't intentional."
So Uncle Charley wants you to remember this as you read. He believes; "The sincerity of the messenger and the thought and intention of the message matter most, not just the syntax."
Uncle Charley's a lot like Will Rogers when it comes to humility and integrity:
"I'm just an old country boy in a big town trying to get along. I have been eating pretty regular and the reason I have is because I have stayed an old country boy."
